1. Your photos

The Lat Long Editor reads and edits photos inside your own browser. By default, your photo is not uploaded to our servers. If you tick “Keep a 24-hour recovery copy”, the finished JPEG is sent to our server and stored under a random file name so you can re-download it from “Recent files”. A scheduled task deletes these copies automatically after about 24 hours.

2. Location and maps

• The map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap (and from Esri if you switch to satellite view). Those providers can see your IP address and the map area you view.
• If you use “Find a place”, the text you type is sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim search service.
• “Use my location” asks your browser for permission. Your position is used only to place the marker on your screen; it is not sent to us.
• Coordinates you choose are written into the photo you download. We don’t collect them.

3. Third-party libraries and fonts

The page loads Leaflet (unpkg), piexifjs (jsDelivr) and fonts (Google Fonts) from their providers, which may log standard request data. We do not use invasive third-party tracking scripts.

4. Data stored on your device

Your browser stores a “Recent files” history of photos you edited here: the output file name, time, chosen coordinates and a tiny 96-pixel thumbnail. This stays only on your device until you clear it from the Recent files window or your browser settings. It is never sent to us. A functional session cookie may be set when you use the recovery-copy feature or the contact form, to limit abuse. You can clear this any time in your browser settings.

5. Contact form

If you write to us, we receive the name, email address and message you provide, and use them only to reply.
